Outreach Ministries is the ever-evolving local outreach ministry of Mariners Church in Irvine, California. Located just minutes from both the multimillion dollar mansions overlooking trendy Newport Beach and the cramped, multi-family apartments in the gang-riddled, inner-city of Santa Ana, Mariners Church finds itself at a cultural and moral crossroads. What could a church full of highly successful people possibly have in common with those who are the poorest of the poor and the neediest of the needy? The answer may surprise you. Because, where the eyes of man see those who "have" and those who "have not," God sees into our hearts. Material wealth is not God's priority. And, when it comes right down to it, we are all equal in our overwhelming need for Him.

The rich man needs salvation as much as the man who is poor, and as the Bible tells us, it is be much harder for the rich man to enter into God's kingdom. The simple, startling fact is that we who have so much need the poor and needy far more than they need us. Material need or abundance is nothing compared to the need for salvation and spiritual growth. Service is at the very center of Christian life, a direct outgrowth of our relationship with a loving Savior. It is through serving others that we learn about the depth of God's love for us, and the lengths to which He will go to save us. It is through service that we deepen and strengthen our relationship with the One who created us and called us to service. It is through service that we put our faith into action and become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.

Outreach Ministries consists of over 20 unique ministries & programs. It runs on a budget of $1.9M, each and every dollar given in offering over and above the regular giving of church members. In the past year 4,500 volunteers served the poor and in need through Outreach Ministries.
