Mariners Disaster Response Team was formed in 2007 in response to the ever-increasing frequency of disasters around the globe.  Our purpose is to provide help and hope for those whose lives have been devastated by disaster – locally and globally.  Since our inception, we have responded to the Southern California wildfires of the past two years in partnership with Hope Force International, Operation OC (Orange County Rescue Mission), and local churches.

When lives are turned upside down as a result of fire, flood, hurricanes, or the like, we can bring the love of Jesus into a world of hurt by being a listening ear, providing a bottle of water, or helping those affected navigate the mountain of paperwork that inevitably results. In addition to tangible gifts and actions, the emotional and spiritual care provided by trained volunteers meets the deepest needs of people in crisis.  Through training and partnerships with recognized local and national organizations, we are able to reach more people with the message of God's love.

On Mariners' campus, we are prepared to offer temporary shelter to both humans and household pets, and are beginning to develop a strategy to enable spontaneous volunteers to find opportunities to help in times of disaster. Join us!
